The County Club Team Championship is open
to all clubs in Renfrewshire Golf Union and determines which club
goes through to the Scottish Club Championship finals . The winning
team from that event represents Scotland in the European finals.
This years competition will be played at Cochrane Castle Golf Club
on Sunday 5th July.
Each team
comprises three players whose aggregate scratch score determines the winning club.
All clubs are invited to enter three players of their choice. See
below for full details of the conditions of play. |

CONDITIONS OF PLAY
The Competition shall
be played over one round of 18 holes in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved
by R & A Rules Limited and the Local Rules as approved by the Competition
Committee. - The Competition
shall be under the charge of the Competition Committee of Renfrewshire Golf Union
to whom all disputes will be referred and whose decision shall be final. The Committee
reserve the right to amend the Conditions of the Competition.
- It
shall comprise of 18 holes of stroke play by each team of 3 players and the winners
shall be the team with the lowest aggregate scratch score.
- In
the event of a tie, the winners shall be decided by the better inward half of
the aggregate scratch scores. If still tied then the winner shall be decided by
the better last 6 ; 3 ; 1 aggregate scratch scores.
- The
trophy shall be held by the winners, whose responsibility is to ensure that the
trophy is returned to the Renfrewshire Golf Union when requested.
- In
the event of a competitor withdrawing after the closing time and date, the entry
fee shall not be refunded.
- Failure
to notify the Championship Committee of withdrawal shall result in a ban from
playing in the same competition the following year. Only in exceptional circumstances
and on formal appeal to the Championship Committee will the ban be lifted.
- The
ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls
issued by the R & A.
- The driver
the competitor carries must have a club head identified by model and loft, that
is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by R & A Rules
Limited. Note: Any individual driver on the List, if tested on pendulum testing
apparatus approved by R & A Rules Limited must not have a characteristic time
greater than 257 microseconds. Penalty for Breach of Condition : Disqualification.
- During
the stipulated round, a competitor may not use a motorised vehicle unless specifically
authorised by the Committee.
- Pace
of Play (Note 2 to Rule 6-7) In the absence of mitigating circumstances, a group
is liable to be timed if it is in excess of the time allowed and, in the case
of 2nd or subsequent groups out of position. The time allowed will be determined
by the Competition Committee and will be notified to all competitors.
- A
competitor is not permitted to withdraw at any stage of the Competition except
for emergency reasons or medical circumstances explained and deemed acceptable
by the Competition Committee. A competitor failing to notify the Competition Committee
in person of his withdrawal before departing the Competition venue will be subject
to an automatic ban from the same competition the following year. Only in exceptional
circumstances and on formal appeal may the ban be lifted.
QUALIFICATION
- Be
male at birth and of Amateur Status as defined by the R & A Rules Limited.
- Be
in possession of a handicap under the current Congu Unified Handicapping System.
ENTRIES
- Competitors
must be members of the same golf club and entry must be made to the Secretary
of the Renfrewshire Golf Union by the affiliated club. Application should be made
at least 2 weeks prior to the event in order that a draw can be made and published.
- The
starting field shall be open to all golf clubs affiliated to the Renfrewshire
Golf Union.
- Entries should be sent
to the Secretary, Renfrewshire Golf Union accompanied by the entry fee of £20.00.
- All entries are the subject of the
approval of the Championship Committee, who reserve the right to refuse or accept
or, having accepted, subsequently reject any entry and shall not be called upon
to give any reason for their action.
REGISTRATION
Competitors are required to register at the Renfrewshire Golf Union
registration desk at least 15 minutes prior to their tee off time.
